Always Be prepared For Disappointment

As we move into the last quarter of the year, many students will start to ponder about their immediate future.  Parents will start looking for suitable colleges for their children’s higher education. Those who are affluent will be busy  looking at brochures from foreign Universities hoping to find a place in a suitable and reputable Institution of higher learning so their children’s future could be guaranteed.

For those who can’t afford to sent their children overseas, their best bet will be local Universities. Many has the notion that a local degree is not on par with oversea degrees, which is a total misconception. Local degree holders do have good reputation among employers here. Of course if you are opting for a job overseas, an American or an English degree will will give you the advantage, but if you have no such plans, holding a local degree is a very good alternative.

Each year there will be a lot of complains on the enrolment issues where students cannot get a place for the choice of the courses that they have applied for. When applying for place in the local universities, students are given a choice of the courses they want to take and the University that they want to pursue that course. It is common knowledge that many students will not get what they have chosen and being placed in some campus that they have no interest at all. Some just simple opt out and join the job market rather than pursuing something that they doesn’t like.

Despite these complains every year the problem has persisted with no solution in sight. Thus it will be a good thing that students be prepared to accept the disappointment. They can either appeal and hope for the best, just take whatever is given or just go looking for a job and hope to save enough to pursue their interest in a private college.
