Dabbling in the Futures market

By Ah Pek | Aug 4, 2007

Now first of all, I have to clarify that I though I know a little bit about the stock market or the futures market, my knowledge of how to speculate in these markets are almost zero. So this is not going to be a tutorial about speculation but rather a review on a site that offers those interested in dealing with futures market chance to learn from a very experienced trader by the name of Todd Mitchell, Emini Futures Veteran Trader and Educator, owner of Trading Concepts Inc.

Here on, a little bit of what is Futures Contract and what is the S&P 500 Index should make what you are going to read a little bit more interesting, especially if you are one that has no general idea of what these two terms refers too and what emini is all about. Basically and very simply put,

A future’s contract is an agreement between the seller and buyer to respectively deliver and take delivery of a commodity at a specified future date.

and the S & P Index is

The Index based on the stock prices of 500 different companies - generally 76% industrials, 12% financial institutions, 10% utilities and 2% transportation.

To get a better in depth explanation of these two, check this article entitled, Exactly What Is The S&P 500 Market?

Now then, to be able to dabble in emini trading, one has to be able to read the market real well in order to be successful, and like all specialized field, it not as simple as reading a few books or reading a few articles. In cases like this, the best way to approach it would have someone who has been in the trade to teach you and this is what Trading Concept. Inc is all about. Giving you the training and lessons you need to be a successful emini trader.

Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain inherent limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not actually been executed, the results may have under- or over-compensated for the impact, if any, certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated e mini trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight.
