Have a Striking SignBoard for Your Business

The signboard of your business represents you and the business you are doing. Many big corporations spends thousands of dollars getting graphic designers to create signboards and company logos that are striking and easily remembered by he public. A company logo need not be very fancy or colorful. In fact experts have advised that it should not exceed 3 colors. take for example the Nike logo. It is just a picture of a simple tick, yet it has been so well branded that all the public has to see is a tick and they will be reminded of Nike. That is a perfect example of a well designed logo.

If you look around, you will notice that most logos and signs of well established companies are very “simply” designed. it is made such a way that it will be easily remembered by people. Taking this concept into consideration, your business signboard should also follow the same guidelines. As attractive as possible, but as simple as it can get.

Lots of people thinks that the more colorful their signboard, the more people will be attracted to it. This not only wrong but the whole purpose of the signboard will gone to waste. They will not get n idea what your shop is selling or dealing with. Another big mistake is to have lots of writings on the signboard. They try to advertise everything they are selling in one signboard. Most of the time, people will easily forget. The image will not be etched into their minds.

The best signboards are those that will be remembered by people long after they have seen it. For example if your shop deals in fishing equipments, have the words Fishing Equipments written as big and as striking as possible so that when people sees it, they know they can find fishing equipments in your shop. There is no need to list out all the different types equipment on the signboard. It will just mess up the whole thing.

Another good type of signboard is the kind that rides on the popularity of well established brands. If you are an authorised dealer for certain well known brands, use that brand’s logo as your main design in you signboard, with the words, “authorised dealer” in smaller lettering beneath. It is a good advertising gimmick. Brand conscious people will take note that there is an authorised dealer around the next time they shop for their favorite brands.
