I don’t know why, but I can never bring myself to drink any water be it purified or whatever, unless it has been boiled. So even if I have a purification system which I bought for more than 2000 bucks in my home, I still boil my water before I can bring myself to drink it.
Purifying water depends on the purifying elements inside the system. Some have more than 3 elements inside their system letting the water pass filter through each stage until the final product is free from any sediments and some claims, harmful substances, are all cleanse out. Some better ones lets the water pass through ultra violet rays to kill bacteria before the final outlet. All looks well and the water that comes out looks really clear and safe to drink, and I think it is safe in most cases.
However when the system is not properly maintained, what comes out could be harmful. Have you ever seen the technicians taking out the filtering elements when it’s time for replacement? The sludge and dirt will make you think twice if you have been drinking all those dirt without knowing it all this while. What if one of the elements inside have failed. What if the ultra violet rays have weakened over time? Is it still safe to drink the purified water?
In my opinion, purify your water, by all means. We know our quality of water here. But after the purification process, the best thing is still to boil the water before consuming it. That, by far is the most effective method of purification. Boiling water after purifying it means you get water without all the dirty sediments and water that is free from bacteria.
