They are some people who mix around a lot and has lots of good contacts with people from all walks of life. It is good to have many friends like that. It is just like having a living business encyclopedia by your side. You can ask them where to get certain goods or from whom to obtain certain services and they will have the information at their finger tips.
These people makes a living from knowing people. They are born socialites and they make a very good salesperson. For their ability to be friends with everybody, they can make a easy living just by introducing businesses or projects to people. They make good real estate brokers.
It is an unwritten rule in the business world that if you obtain a lucrative business opportunity, or a contract, it is good ethics to show your appreciation to the guy who showed you the way or who introduced you to the opportunity with a generous reward. They could have well recommended others and without his recommendations you would not have known of such opportunity. So repay the favor so more favors can be received. They might not make it known to you that they want something in return or may be they did not even expect anything in return, but make sure you make it worth his effort, so if another big one comes his way, he will remember you first.
There is a Chinese saying that goes, “A sheep’s fur grows on a sheep’s back” It means that if you want a good thick fur during the next shearing season, make sure you take off the old layer of fur cleanly first. Else the sheep will never grow nice new fur. It also means sacrificing a little to make lots more. A small reward each time to the guy who brokered the deal for you will bring a much bigger deal in the future.
